How Planet Made Began

Planet Made began with a simple idea: to turn waste into something useful — and to make ethical shopping easy.

It all started during a university project, experimenting with textile waste to design sustainable packaging. That small spark grew into something bigger. With the UK producing over 1.45 million tonnes of textile waste each year, we saw an opportunity to do more — and do better.

From that vision came our signature product: handmade sustainable washbags crafted from 100% recycled textile waste. Each bag is designed with circularity in mind and made here in the UK.

Staying true to our values, all Planet Made products are shipped in biodegradable, plastic-free packaging. We’re committed to reducing waste at every step — creating thoughtful alternatives that leave as little trace as possible on the planet.

Our Mission

In a world dominated by big corporations, it can feel impossible to find brands that genuinely care about their impact on the planet.

Too often, the products we buy come wrapped in layers of plastic, or they’re made by companies with unethical practices behind the scenes. That’s why I set out to create Planet Made — a brand built to make ethical shopping simple, and that minimises it’s environmental impact at every step.

Our mission is to make it easy to support the planet while you shop — because consumption shouldn’t cost the Earth.

Every product we make or support is either ethically sourced, supports ethical practices, or contributes to a circular economy. Like our first product idea : sustainable washbags crafted from 100% recycled, high-quality waterproof fabrics otherwise destined for landfill.

Planet Made is here to show that sustainability doesn’t have to be complicated — just conscious.

Our Vision

At Planet Made, we believe in growing with purpose — not speed. Over time, we plan to expand our sustainable product range carefully, selecting only products that meet our strict sustainability criteria.

As our collection grows, so too will the trust between us. You’ll always know that every Planet Made product is genuinely sustainable, ethically made, or actively helping the planet in some way.

But our vision doesn’t stop at products. As we grow, we’re committed to supporting communities around the world through education and conservation initiatives — because people and planet go hand in hand.

We also aim to build a community of like-minded individuals who care about the brands they support. A space where sustainable shopping is simple, transparent, and empowering — where you can clearly see the impact of your purchase.

In the long run, we want that community to help guide us — shaping the causes we support and helping decide where and how Planet Made makes a difference.

A community that consumes but consumes in the right way.

  • Founder

Founding Planet Made whilst at university I wanted to create something that used the vast amounts of waste our world produces whilst creating a brand that gives back and genuienly helps the planet.

The journey started during a university project when I was looking into alternatives to plastic packaging with our solution being packaging bags made from old coats.

The idea then grew into toiletry bags made from waste waterproof fabrics and the creation of Planetmade with the long-term goal of having a whole product range of high-quality goods made from waste.
